Development and Production of Experimental High-Strength Ferritic Electrodes. Part 1.

Abstract

This is the third progress report on Part 1 of Contract W33-019 ORD 5461. Tests leading to the development of high-strength ferritic electrodes were continued, using Electrode Number 48A, previously described, as a basis. Thus far, attempts to duplicate the tensile properties of weld metal deposited by this electrode have not been entirely successful particularly with regard to ductility, but improvement over the results reported last month has been obtained.
