Investigation on the Welding of High-Strength Aluminum Alloys.
Abstract
Work during this period has been concentrated on the welding and testing of the 1-1/2-inch thick high-strength aluminum alloy plates. In the statement of progress dated December 1, 1947, mechanical tests of the 61SW and the 61ST plates in the as-received condition were reported. In addition, the welding and partial testing of seven 61SW and 61ST plates were discussed, and mechanical test results (on the tests completed) were reported.
