The Effect of Soaking Coldworked Guns in the Horizontal Position.
Abstract
The object of this investigation was to study the possibility of soaking coldworked guns in a horizontal position instead of vertically, thus eliminating a choke point in the gun department. There is no bending of any consequence produced in 3 inches A.A. M-3 liners soaked horizontally in a furnace for five hours at 300 deg C.
