Chromium-Iron Plating Baths Used in the Investigations of Oxidation Resistance, Thermal Expansion and Hot Hardness. Appendix B.

Abstract

This report discloses the formulations for the chromium-iron alloy plating baths used for investigating oxidation resistance, thermal expansion, and hot hardness. The chromium ammonium salts were dissolved in boiling water. After adding the ammonium sulfate, the ferrous ammonium sulfate, and 5 g/1 activated carbon, the pH was adjusted by adding ammonia solution to the values given above, and the solutions were filtered.
