Analysis of Design on Tujunga Wash Channel Improvement, Los Angeles River to Hansen Dam, Los Angeles River to Magnolia Boulevard, Station 7+00 to Station 110+00, Mile 0.13 to Mile 2.08.

Abstract

The principal item of improvement on this reach is the construction of a rectangular reinforced concrete channel 70 feet wide with wall heights varying from 14 to 14.5 feet. The improvement will require the reconstruction of one existing highway bridge. Provision will be made for the installation of three highway bridges at sites desired by local interests. Other agencies will accomplish the construction of the bridges. Other structures included in the subject project are three inlet spillway structures over the top of the channel wall, one side inlet structure, and a connection to one existing corrugated metal pipe 24 inches in diameter. Six water lines of diameters varying from 6 inches 24 inches, three gas lines, two sewer lines, one oil line, four telephone lines, and two power poles must be relocated.
