Thermal and Related Physical Properties of Molten Materials.
Abstract
Heat content measurements have been made on monel salt containers over the temperature range from 100 to 900 C. Heat content measurements on salt C have been made from 100 to 580 C with theat values on the salt given in this report from 64 to 354 C. Metals other than nickel have been studied with respect to the reaction with fused sodium hydroxide. Reaction with copper and monel are discussed in this report. Equations are given for a number of other metals which react with sodium hydroxide.
