Sintered Iron Rotating Bands. Fabrication of German Sintered Iron Rotating Bands.

Abstract

This report, no. 4 in the series of reports being compiled on the German Sintered Iron Rotating Bands, contains a discussion of the methods used by the Germans in the fabrication of their standard rotating bands. As many operating details as were available are given in the sections concerning the individual fabricating steps. Special attention is directed to the section concerning wax impregnation. Although this is a comparatively simple operation, it is believed that the success of the German sintered iron rotating band is, in a large measure, dependent upon this wax impregnation.
