Naval Advisory Group Activities Historical Review for December 1965

Abstract

December was marked by a decrease in the number of units searched at sea. Interdiction of small boat coastal traffic increased. Task Force 116, GAME WARDEN, was established on 18 December. Its mission to assist the Government of Vietnam in denying the enemy use of the major rivers of the Delta and Rung Sat Special Zone. Data received from Vietnamese Naval Headquarters reported 13,900 junks searched, and 55,000 people investigated during December. There were reports of surface and air surveillance, and minings. Market Time Units patroled Search and rescue operation as well as leaflet dropping for psychological warfare and was carried out. Advisory activities planned military schooling for officers.
