Abstract

The purpose of this report is to describe the biophysical environment of the Waccamaw River, North Carolina and South Carolina project area, including all areas that can be expected to be influenced by the operation and maintenance of the project as delimited by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District Office. Contents: General Setting; Climate; Geology; Biotic Communities: Open Water, Brackish Marsh, Freshwater Marsh, Cypress Swamp, Alluvial Forest, Oak-Pine Forest, Agricultural Land, Man-influenced, Man-dominated; Endangered species.
