Abstract

The purpose of this report is to describe the biophysical environment of the Georgetown Harbor, South Carolina project area, including all areas that can be expected to be influenced by the operation and maintenance of the project as delimited by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Charleston District Office. Contents: General Setting; Geology; Climate; Soils; Hydrology; Biotic Communities: Open Water, Beach and Dune, Salt Flat, Low Marsh, High Marsh, Brackish Marsh, Freshwater Marsh, Cypress Swamp, Oak-Pine Forest, Agriculture, Man-influenced, Man-dominated; Endangered Species.
