Survey Report on Cooper River, S.C. (Shoaling in Charleston Harbor), Appendix F. Harbor Pollution Study.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of the proposed Cooper River rediversion on the water quality in Charleston Harbor. The scope of the study was to determine the existing water quality as measured by various bacteriological, biological, chemical and physical parameters; an investigation of the effects of interactions of these parameters on environmental changes; and a prediction of the response of the water quality tothe proposed reduction of fresh water inflow. The area of study included the lower reaches of the Ashley, Cooper, and Wando Rivers, the harbor area between these tributaries, and the harbor entrance.
