Examination and Physical Testing of Iron Powders for Use in the Development of IronPowder rotating Bands and the PReparation of a Seriesl of Rotating Bands for Test Purposes.

Abstract

The object of thi sstudy was to select commercial iron powders, determine their chemical and physical characteristics in both the as-received and annealed conditions; determine the correlations between the particle size distribution, particle shape, pressing, and sintering processes and the mechanical properties of sintered iron compacts over a range of densities from 5.0 to 7.0 grams per cc. Keywords: Powder metals.
