Study of Ocular Effects of Chronic Exposure to Lasar Radiation.

Abstract

Development of a model has been initiated to compare retinal damage caused by chronic exposure to continuous wave laser radiation and that caused by conventional illumination. The purpose of the comparison is to establish saftery standard for continuous wave lasers. The experiemntal animal used so far has seen the rabbit. It has been discovered that the rabbit eye is nuch nore resistant to this kind of damage than animals perviously tested. Keywords include: Lasers; Retinal danage; Ophthalmology.
