A Research Investigation of Fundamental Factors Governing the Ductility and Hot Hardness of Electrodeposited Chromium.

Abstract

The objective of this project was to develop futher the fundamental principles of chromium plating and to study the causes underlying the shortcomings of commercial hard chromium plate. This work was the initial phase of an extended program which is aimed at producing an improved tpe of chromium plate for service on Ordnance Material, and, in particular, on gun tubes for hypervelocity firing.
