Metallurgical Examination of Two Heavy Cast Armor Plates

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to study the metallurgical characteristics of samples cut from the centers of a 3-inch cast plate and a 15 inch grate casting manufactured by the continental roll and steel foundry company. the results of this investigation indicate the factors which caused the failure the material.
