An area 2000- X 175-foot, adjacent to the wharf and dolphins will be dredged to a depth 27 feet below mean low water. Approximately 89,000 cubic yards of silty-fine sand will be deposited in an area above mean high water. The purpose of the proposed action is to construct a metal plate assembly yard for the production of large aluminum tanks which are to be permanently installed on ocean-going ships for the transport of liquified natural gas. No natural gas is to be loaded, unloaded, or stored at the proposed facility.
