Wateree River, South Carolina. Preliminary Review Report for Major Drainage and Channel Straightening.

Abstract

Channel improvement would involve the snagging and bank clearing of 44 miles of the Wateree River including the reach from the mouth to mile 40 and 4 miles of river between planned cut-offs in the general vicinity of Boykin, S.C., from river mile 40 to river mile 67.5, and dredging not less than 9,400,000 cubic yards of silt, sand, and clay from the cut-offs. Federal and non-Federal first costs and annual carrying charges are tabulated.
