Reddies River Lake, Reddies River, North Carolina. Design Memorandum 1. Site Selection,

Abstract

The proposed Reddies River Lake Project is located on the Reddies River. The east abutment of each of the three potential deamsites is within the corporate limits of the City of North Wilkesboro. All three sites considered for the final site are located in a 3/4 mile reach of the river between the North Wilkebosboro water supply dam and Hoopers Branch, a tributary of Reddies River. The purposes of this design memorandum are: to determine whether an alternate site would offer significant advantages over the site recommended in the Definite Project Report, to present early geological and foundation data in order to tentatively establish the axis fo the dam, and provide data to help design elements determine the type of structures best suited for the recommended site.
