'CR-39 Lens, Spectacle, Field Fabrication'.
Abstract
The United States Defense Forces have designated 'Lens, Spectacle, Field Fabrication, Automatic' as a goal to be achieved so as to provide rapid replacement of spectacles for military personnel in the field. This report discusses preliminary design characteristics of a mobile unit capable of fabricating allyl diglycol carbonate lenses for this purpose. The purpose of this document is to provide an outline of mechanical, material, and personnel requirements for an (L.F.F.) module based on a five hundred square foot floor space limitation for casting operations.
