Abstract

This report presents data on the Metallurgical Examination of 4 and 5 Thick Rolled Homogeneous Armor Plates. The metallurgical examination consisted of the following tests: Chemical analyses of selected plates; Fracture tests for steel soundness and fibre; Brinell hardness surveys; V-notch Charpy impact tests; Microscopic examination; and Jominy hardenability tests.
