Centrifugally Cast Monel Metal,

Abstract

Fifteen radial transverse specimens representing twelve castings of monel metal cast centrifugally were received from Lt. Connor to ascertain the grain size. The specimens were marked CE121 - CE124, CE125A, CE125B, CE126 - CE133, and were cut from the 'macro' discs located at 1 1/2 e-in from the Breech End, outside diameter 5 7/16 e-in. See Lt, Connor's Report No. 613/129, titled 'Experimental Centrifugal Castings of Various Copper Mickel Alloys CE121-133', for the casting practice, chemical analysis and other data concerning these castings. The grain sizes and micrographs are given in a table.
