Tables for Computing Horizontal Distance of Pilot Balloons (30 Gram) For Use with the ML-462 ( )/UM-Nozzle.

Abstract

These tables are a reprint of United States Weather Bureau tables (WB Form 1043) for computing horizontal distance of 30-gram pilot balloons for use with the ML-462( )/UM-nozzle. They are designed to replace the slide rule in determining the horizontal component of a 30-gram pilot balloon's distance from the theodolite at any given whole minute after the balloon is released. To determine horizontal distances for fractions of whole minutes, interpolation is required.
