Research and Development of Heating and Isolation of Chromium.

Abstract

The object of this report is to study chemical and structural changes occurring in pure chromium when heated in atmosphere gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Experimental work has been carried on simultaneously to study equilibria between chromium and oxygen and between chromium and nitrogen gas. To do this it has been necessary to design and build special reaction chambers and analytical equipment.
