Evaluation of Tests for Non-Metallic Refractories as Components of Erosion-Resistant Materials.

Abstract

The scope of the problem was to be evaluations of the methods of testing to determine the physical properties of cermets important for use in ordnance materials, such as, for example, nozzles for recoilless rifles. The physical properties, thermal expansion and conductivity, electrical conductivity, creep, oxidation rates and thermal shock resistance. Compositions of the cermets to be tested were discussed. All literature dealing with cermets classified and unclassified should be reviewed.
