Command History. 1972-1973. Volume 1. Sanitized

Abstract

This 1972-1973 historical narrative marks the final volume in the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam Command History series, begun in 1964. Our objective was to provide a complete, concise reference document covering the final 15 months of the command's activities and programs--through its disestablishment on 29 March 1973. Since the cease-fire preparation began in late October, and was virtually continuous thereafter, the final 15 months is treated as an entity. Contents include: Pre-Offensive Jan-Mar 72 Air & Ground Operations; North Vietnamese Offensive & Stabilization; SVN Counteroffensive Jul-Oct 72 Air & Ground Opns; Preparation for the Truce, Nov 72-Jan 73; The Last 61 days 28 Jan-29 Mar 73, Air & Ground Opns; Annexes A thru D--The Enemy, Air and Naval Operations, Military Assistance to the RVNAF, Republic of Vietnam Development, Economic Affairs.
