Meningococcal Polysaccharide - Type A.

Abstract

Sixteen 100 liter tank fermentations were required to isolate 19 grams of Type A polysaccharide. The fermentation process for Type A was carried out with little difficulty. The isolation of the Type A polysaccharide however was arduous and was the major reason for yields of less than 1.2 grams per tank.
