Field Tests of Short-Base Triangulation and Subtense-Bars,

Abstract

Tests of various methods of extending control and tests of various items of captured enemy survey equipment, in compliance with directives from the Chief of Engineers, have been made to investigate the use of subtense-bars in the field and to determine the best method of extending control under various terrain conditions. Several traverses using different methods and equipment have been run over several types of terrain both day and night.
