Airfield Gasoline Pipeline Distribution System,

Abstract

In April 1943, the installation of airfield pipeline distribution system was started by Engineer aviation troops at Bushnell Army Airfield, Bushnell, Florida, in accordance with design furnished to them. The system was composed on pumping stations which supplied gasoline to hardstands through 4-inch lightweight invasion pipe. Several types of safety devices, as well as the Schramm engine throttle control, were utilized. Operation of the system was unsatisfactory.
