AFSOUTH Nuclear Defense Capabilities. Sanitized.

Abstract

This report documents an investigation of the capability of AFSOUTH to respond to a surprise Warsaw Pact attack into Greek and Turkisk Thrace. Conventional and tactical nuclear alternatives and combinations of alternatives are analyzes. Repositioning maneuver and artillery units, enhancing the anti-tank capability of Greek forces, and upgrading unit effectiveness of Turkisk forces would improve the defense capability significantly.
