Dry-Ice, Liquid-Pulse-Pump, Portable Cooling System

Abstract

The Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) has developed a bench-model, dry-ice, liquid-pulse-pump, portable cooling system which has a potential total cooling capacity of approximately 880 kcal (6.77 kg. dry ice) and weighs 9.56 kg. uncharged with dry ice. The system is designed for use with commercial liquid cooling garments to provide conduction cooling to personnel subjected to heat stress.
