The Transport Properties of Binary Gas Mixtures in Applied Magnetic Fields.

Abstract

This paper employs methods introduced by L.W. Hunter to obtain scalar equations for the transport properties of binary gaseous mixtures in applied magnetic fields. The collision integrals occurring in these equations are generalizations of those discussed by L.W. hunter and R.F. Snider. viscosity of an atom-diatom mixture in an applied magnetic field is treated in detail. The basic set is truncated and the limit in which the concentration of the diatomic species is low is considered. The expressions obtained for the shear viscosity tensor are shown to be of the same form as earlier theoretical expressions....
