An Intensive Cultural Resources Survey and Assessment of Proposed Levee Modifications at the Ensley Levee, Shelby County, Tennessee.

Abstract

A cultural resources survey and assessment of approximately 880 acres of land which will be affected by proposed levee modification and improvement in Shelby County, Tennessee. Based on an on-site pedestrian survey of the impact area, an archival record search, a review of published material relating to the area, and consideration of prehistoric and historic settlement patterns, it is recommended that there are no significant cultural resources within the project area.
