A Cultural Resources Survey of Two County Bridge Locations: Blackfish Bayou, Item 2 (Mile 16.62), St. Francis Arkansas and Cache Item 4B, Woodruff County, Arkansas.

Abstract

This report is the result of a survey level investigation of two county bridge locations in St. Francis and Woodruff Counties, AR. The intensive survey was conducted by the Environmental Resources Section of the US Army Corps Of Engineers, Memphis District, during March of 1978. Three areas of recent historic debris were located; two at the Cache River location in Woodruff Co. and one at the Bayou bridge location in St. Francis Co. No further work is warranted at any of these sites, however, further survey is needed at the Cache River location, as a portion of this area was underwater at the time the survey was conducted. None of the sites located to date were determined to be eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Place.
