A Survey Level Report of Locust Creek, Greene County, Arkansas.

Abstract

An intensive survey for prehistoric and historic properties was conducted by Iroquoi Research Institute within the federally owned right-of-way associated with Locust Creek Ditch, Greene Co., AR. The study methods included a review of published literature, a review of county, state, and federal archival sources, a cartographic review, interviews with local informants, field examination and archaeological analysis of artifact collections. Sixteen sites have been inventoried and evaluated against the criteria of eligibility for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. One site is considered eligible for the National Register and a plan to mitigate potential adverse effects to the site is recommended.
