Archeological Survey Along the Mississippi River in Lee and Phillips Counties, Arkansas.

Abstract

On 14 July, 1976 the Arkansas Archeological Survey conducted an archeological investigation of an area to be affected by proposed dike and revetment construction on the Mississippi River. The area on the west bank of the Mississippi River, just north of the mouth of the St. Francis River in Phillips and Lee Counties, is approximately 4500 feet north-south by 150 feet east-west. No archeological or historic resources were discovered during the survey, and the potential for such resources in considered low. It is felt that no further archeological work will be required.
