A Cultural Resources Study of Bauxippi-Wyanoke Revetment Construction Area, Crittenden County, Arkansas.

Abstract

On 4 September 1981, an intensive cultural resources survey was conducted by the Environmental Resources Section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, over approximately ten acres adjacent to the Mississippi River. The entire area was planted in soybeans. The proposed work includes construction of a revetment that will extend a maximum of 200 feet landward of existing top bank. A literature search and a pedestrian survey failed to locate any prehistoric, historic, or architectural sites within the project right-of-way.
