A Survey Level Report of Wappapello Lake Recreation Areas Wayne County, Missouri.
Abstract
Two archaeological sites were inventoried during the survey. A historic site was discovered at Peoples Creek Recreation Area. This site was determined to be insignificant in regards to National Register of Historic Places criteria. A prehistoric site was discovered at Chaonia Landing. Additional survey of the site area, and subsurface testing to determine eligibility to the National Register was recommended.
