A Reconnaissance for Archaeological and Historic Resources of the Cache River Pumping Station and Channel Improvements Near Mound City, Illinois.

Abstract

The study area for the work undertaken under contract DAWC66-74-C-0167 (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District) was restricted to the following three locations: (1) Cache River Pumping Station--to be located at Cache River Floodgate through Ohio River Levee, (2) Channel Improvements in Mound City--interior drainage ditches leading from existing pumping stations as shown on May 3, (3) Channel Improvements North, South, and Around the Perimeter of Mound City--outlet ditches from Mound City and diversion Channel from Mounds Creek.
