A Cultural Resources Literature Search for the St. Johns Bayou and New Madrid Floodway Project: New Madrid, Scott, and Mississippi Counties, Missouri.
Abstract
A cultural resource literature search is presented for the 170 mile St. John-Madrid Floodway ditches and a 2500 acre mitigation area in Scott, New Madrid, and Mississippi Counties, Missouri. A sample of 124 recorded archaeological sites is evaluated as a means of making statements about areas within the right-of-way which have a high potential of as yet undiscovered resources
