Abstract

A cultural resources survey was conducted along 27.6 miles in southeast Missouri The architectural assessment was conducted by Fischer-Stein Associates of Carbondale, IL A total of 24 architectural features were identified and evaluated. Site 2-a-2 is a steel riveted through bridge of Pratt and Parker type steel trusses. The prehistoric and historic assessment was conducted by American Resources Group, Ltd., of Carbondale, IL, on a subcontract through Fischer-Stein Assoc. It is recommended that five historic sites are not archaeological significant and do not require further mitigation. Access was denied by local landowners at sites 23ST187 and 23ST190. It is recommended that negotiations with these landowners be conducted in an attempt to perform subsurface testing to evaluate the potential of these sites.
