A Cultural Resources Survey of the Ditch 75, Blytheville Air Force Base, Mississippi County, Arkansas.

Abstract

On 2 and 5 April 1982, an intensive cultural resources survey was conducted by the Environmental Resources Section of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, over approximately 40 acres. The entire right-of-way area was in cultivation and had been rained on several times before the survey; thus, visibility was excellent. The area is located in Township 16N, Range 11E, W1/2 Section 29, N1/2 Section 32, SW1/4 Section 33 (Blytheville Quadrangle, 15 Minute), Mississippi County, Arkansas. One site, 3MS105, with both historic and prehistoric components, was located. On 12 May 1982, the site area was revisited with Dr. Dan Morse. The Hayner property, directly across from the site, was also surveyed for sites. No site was found directly opposite site 3MS105.
