A Preliminary Field Study of the Archeological Resources of a Four Mile Portion of the Tyronza River, Poinsett County, Arkansas.

Abstract

Twenty four sites were revealed. Most had been disturbed by the original dredging done nearly 40 years ago. Specific components identified include 9 Archaic, 19 Woodland and 19 Mississippian occupations. Specific descriptions of these sites and their cultural remains are included in this report with an appraisal of their significance
