Rocky Mountain Arsenal Modeling.

Abstract

To provide a quantitative analysis tool, a ground water flow and contaminant transport model was selected. This model provides the method to assess the local, arsenal-wide, and off-post impact of scheme designed to control ground water contaminant movement. Objectives of the modeling effort are: (1) To determine impacts of proposed changes in surface water management, (2) To compare the impacts of contaminant control at the source control at the arsenal boundaries. (3) To compare proposed control schemes with systems presently in place, (4) To determine the impact of closing Basin F, (5) To examine the effects of proposed control strategies on off-post migration of contaminants and water levels
