Phase Front Homing.

Abstract

Both the conventional AM homing system and a new approach to homing, detection of the relative phase difference between two homing antennas, are described. The Phase Front Homing technique is then applied to standard airborne FM receivers. Requirements for phase sensitive homing antennas are described and the results of homing system evaluations and flight tests are presented. (Author)
