Final Report 2175 Modular Radar Project

Abstract

Investigations and analyses were conducted on the feasibility of adopting Standard Electronic Modules as building blocks for surface-search radars. Results of the study indicate the substantial costs savings in radar down times, repair times, and automatic fault isolation can be realized. Procurement costs of modular radar systems are shown to be substantially than for systems which must be designed anew.
