Richmond Air Force Station Strong Motion Study - Preliminary Report

Abstract

The implementation of a strong-ground motion study at Richmond AFS is presented. The study was necessitated by suspect effects of near quarry operations on station facilities. Geologic and predicted velocity profiles are presented together with charge-weight, scaled distance determinations. The data acquisition system known as the Seismic Activity Monitoring System (SAMS), employed at the Richmond site, is described in detail.
