Human Factors Engineering Integration Project, Phase 1 Report

Abstract

A study was conducted to develop an initial improved human factors engineering integrated technology. This study was accomplished through the use of a multidisciplined team consisting of in-house Navy, private contractor, and university personnel. The team is concerned with integrating all human factors engineering disciplines and technologies, both existing and currently being developed, which bear upon the human envelope in all stages of the ship system development cycle from concept formulation to operation. Reported and discussed herein are preliminary analyses of some traditional and nontraditional human factors engineering technologies.
