Elastic Constants of Aluminum Alloys, 2024-T3510, 5083-H131 and 7039-T64 as Measured by a Sonic Technique

Abstract

This report presents the results of sonic tests performed on aluminum alloys, 2024-T3510, 5083-H131 and 7039-T64. Young's modulus, the shear modulus, Poisson's ratio and the velocity of sound are reported for the temperature range of 22 to 550 C.
