SPVD Magnetic Sensor Development

Abstract

Development of a low power Brown type ring core magnetometer is described for a Self Powered Vehicles Detector (SPVD) unit capable of sensing motor vehicles in a roadway. Sensor stabilization techniques are discussed and a digital feedback loop designed for improving magnetometer performance and sensor logic functions. The optimized sensor with digital feedback stabilization and low power logic appears adequate for the SPVD.
