Vidicon Modification Study

Abstract

Electronic processing was performed on the video output from a standard vidicon camera using sample and hold modules and integrators. The objective of the equipment development was to square up the apparent MTF of the vidicon to compare with that of a CCD imaging device under conditions of low scene contrast. Improvement in resolution of low contrast targets was noted, but was less than expected (2:1).
